That time I went to ALASKA

We all know that I didn't blog during SHREK. I should have. I had many (many, many) hours on a bus to do so. But I didn't. But because I saw some incredible places in this country and because I am finally getting my summer of leisure, I figured it might be nice to revisit some of the high points (or low points that I actually thought to photograph).

Getting to start the tour in Alaska was, quite seriously, a dream come true. We missed the tourist season by a week or so, but the weather was still pretty mild by their standards. I FINALLY saw the Northern Lights, a glacier and moose that weren't in a cage. We had a fantastic opening night party (where I apparently took no pictures) and I tried reindeer sausage (its good, promise). If I had seen a whale, it would have been perfect.

The view from my room the night after it snowed in the mountains. There was no snow on the ground in town until one of the last nights we were there. The moon was also full and looked HUGE (though that is never the case from an iphone photo)

I think this was the first attempt at a panorama on my iphone 5. But the landscape is exactly what you would imagine - water, mountains, beauty - as far as the eye can see.

Snow City Cafe. If you are in Anchorage, you just must.

Another view from my balcony

My view of the theatre, which was right behind the hotel

I never did find out what this tree is, but it was absolutely beautiful and was all over the place there.

I actually think this is the view of the mountains from Walgreens parking lot. But they were just too pretty to pass up.

Setting lights during tech. We did see A LOT of the inside of a theatre while we were there.

My first time on an outing with Miss Katie and Miss Maggie (and Mama Kaye). We went to visit Star the Reindeer who lives in downtown Anchorage.

OBSESSED. Kaladi Brothers was in the same block as the theatre. The coffee was amazing and I went daily... ok, maybe more than once a day.

Alaska Center for the Performing Arts

Some of the views while driving to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center on our golden day.

The next few are from the conservation center, which was AMAZING!!!

SNOW! This is the first (only? I can't remember) snow we saw in Anchorage, between shows on a two show day.

Before Alaska, we spent a couple weeks in NYC where I had an INCREDIBLE apartment in midtown with a view to die for. I had dinner parties, had a fantastic couch crasher, caught up with tons of friends and lived my Hell's Kitchen dreams. Oh yeah, and we had some rehearsals too ;)

SERIOUSLY! Are you kidding me?! Best apartment ever.
