I have too many thoughts in my head at one time, so this is going to be a little all over the place! At the front - tomorrow is my official start with American Idiot. I spend a week with them in Las Vegas (2nd time since March - hello, Smith Center!!), then have several weeks off before the tour goes to Asia in August. Meeting a new group is always a little overwhelming, but I'm excited to get started. As much as I love time off, I'm at my best when I have something to work on.
I've been really awful about reading for the past couple of weeks. I got sucked into this little addiction called Candy Crush. It is the devil. Stay away from it at all costs. You will have hours of time sucked away from you without knowing what happened. And I had yet to see a movie in my time off - until yesterday.
Verdict's still out on The Interestings... I'm about half way through. But Now You See Me is INCREDIBLE. Worth a trip to the movie theatre, for sure.
I spent the last week in Phoenix with my brother, sister in law and nephew, helping them get ready for their move back to Kansas City. It literally felt like you stuck your head in an oven every time you went outside, which is just not my favorite. I love Arizona for about 8 of the 12 months a year. But then its just too much. I WILL miss this though:
My brother's pool and AZ sunsets. So fantastic.
On the drive from Phoenix to KC (EPIC. So, so long) we stopped in Albuquerque for a day. I've been there several times - my SIL's family lives there and I've played there on tour twice. But I had never been up the tram on Sandia Peak - it was absolutely beautiful. We play Albuquerque again in December, so I want to go up again when there is snow. Sandia is Spanish for watermelon, which is the color the mountains look at sunset.
I'm excited that my whole family is back in KC / Topeka now, so when I have time off, I can find them all in one place.
And a Pintrest recipe tried: quinoa with goat cheese and strawberries. Easy, delicious, great when its just too damn hot to turn on the stove.
