On what feels like the last day of school...

First of all, safari and I are in a fight. I had tons written and it shut down. So now I'm starting over and I don't feel like it! Ugh.

We are half way through our last bus day of 2011. Holy cow, have we gone some miles in this Croswell! And we come back from layoff into 14 one nighters, which I can't even begin to wrap my head around at this point. Right now, the atmosphere is very "last day of school before Christmas break." And I feel like the teacher that just wants it to all be over ... so I'm letting them watch a movie. As a general principle, I hate bus movies with the fire of a thousand suns -- they are too loud, no one can ever agree, etc. But they very quickly decided on Muppets Christmas, and who am I to argue with that?

We have seen a lot of this lovely country since last time I posted. I spent a birthday in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE (that's not my fave), I've seen some gorgeous college campuses, we spent quite a bit of time in the south (Texas, I love you always, but we may need to have a conversation about a couple of your towns), we had a layoff for Thanksgiving (most wonderful and welcome) and returned to the mountains (never, ever get tired of that beauty, particularly in the winter), had two blissful days off in Seattle (one of my all time favorites), and we are wrapping us the 2011 leg in Spokane this weekend. Then its home for three weeks!!

I haven't loaded my Seattle pics yet, but here's some others from our adventures:
A local felt it appropriate to add to my birthday sign. I didn't find the humor...

This is an untrue statement

This was HANGING IN MY OFFICE. Not. Ok.
Augusta, GA - home of the Masters

Yep, this place is for real. Insanity would happen by the end of this evening, but I believe that's to be expected when you name your bar Tipsy McStumbles.

The fog out my window in Augusta. So beautiful
Rainy, rainy Athens, GA. Looks like Lawrence, right? Home to University of Georgia

The bulldogs! I wanted to meet Uga (the mascot) soooo badly.

Ole Miss!! Absolutely gorgeous. Also the first time on this tour that I remember being soooo cold.

Shreveport LA

Thankfully it was a nice day. Because, yes, that is our stuff outside. She is a tiny theatre.
We met this pup at a rest stop on our way to Missouri. We were instantly in love... (and starved for affection)

The interior of one of the best hotel switches I've ever made - our hotel in Springfield MO

Dr. Frankenkitty. We loved her so!

Texas A&M - Home of the 12th Man

Texas A&M Stadium

Brooks Myers is dyyyyyying right now! On the field at Texas A&M
